The Department of Community and Primary Care Medicine (DMCPR) has the societal mission to provide access to quality care for all through local medicine, to ensure the management of minor medical and surgical emergencies, to promote prevention among citizens, to provide medical knowledge for judicial investigations, and to promote the health of travellers.

The Prison Medicine Service offers quality care to detainees in the prisons of the Republic and Canton of Geneva while applying medical law and professional ethics. It develops prevention and health promotion actions within the prison environment.

You will join an outpatient prison unit (category A according to ISFM) and, as part of a multidisciplinary team, provide psychological and psychotherapeutic follow-up for adolescents admitted to La Clairière.

This position grants access to the postgraduate training in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy of the OMP and to all the services provided within this training framework.

The Prison Medicine Service also offers active support in research and teaching.

Job Description

In line with your training path to obtain your title in psychiatry and psychotherapy, you will join a care unit of the department and provide outpatient psychiatric and psychotherapeutic follow-up for adolescents at La Clairière as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Alongside your activity, you will benefit from a high-quality, structured clinical postgraduate training according to FMH requirements for obtaining the specialist title in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy.

You may also participate in ongoing research activities within the services. Support is also available to pursue a doctoral thesis.

Qualifications

You hold a federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).

Previous experience in psychiatry and/or somatic medicine is an asset.

For non-French speakers, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
