Project Manager and Risk Manager at the Medical Directorate
To strengthen our team, the Medical Directorate of the CHUV is seeking a doctor as a project manager and risk manager, with a workload between 80% and 100%. The starting date is scheduled for 1 September 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Medical Directorate (DIM) of the CHUV oversees patient care procedures to ensure their safety and quality. It deploys models of structured, patient-centred, interdisciplinary care based on best practices, manages medico-insurance and medico-legal aspects related to medical activity with insurers, supports departments in computerising their processes and patient records, etc.
Mission
As a project manager and risk manager, you will be involved in projects related to quality and safety (QS) improvement as well as risk management at the institutional level.
- You lead and implement cross-cutting projects and initiatives in the fields of quality, safety (QS) and risk management at the institutional level in a stimulating and constantly evolving environment
- You monitor QS and risk audits, and lead or contribute to the implementation of agreed action plans
- You coordinate, operationally, the institutional management of clinical risks, in close collaboration with stakeholders
- You contribute to the development and maintenance of methods and tools aimed at supporting the quality and safety of care and risk management
- You lead risk analyses and conduct clinical practice audits.
Profile
- You hold a federal medical diploma, or a title recognised by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO) or an equivalent university degree
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience, complemented by training in project management, quality, safety and risk management (FMEA method)
- You master project management, risk management and audit tools and methods
- You have a strong interest in continuous improvement of clinical processes, with a safety and risk-oriented approach
- You wish to enhance your skills through strategic risk management activities in attractive fields impacting all hospital sectors
- You have good analytical and synthesis skills, enjoy taking initiatives, and know how to facilitate interprofessional discussions and groups
- You are solution-oriented and demonstrate rigour, well-developed organisational skills and excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work in a network
- You have excellent command of French, and good knowledge of English.
