Associate Physician Responsible for the Admission-Observation-Crisis Unit
The Admission-Observation-Crisis (AOC) Unit of the General Psychiatry (PGE) service of the Department of Psychiatry is advertising a position for an associate physician responsible, at a 100% activity rate. The starting date is possible from 1 November 2026 (or to be agreed).
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The General Psychiatry Service provides psychiatric care for the adult population (18 to 65 years) of the Lausanne metropolitan area. Organised into specialised sections, it has 108 acute care beds at the Cery site and outpatient consultations in the city centre, to best meet the needs of users and network care partners.
The Admission-Observation-Crisis (AOC) Unit receives patients hospitalised for the first time in a psychiatric setting. Experiencing crisis situations, these are people who may suffer from very varied disorders such as depressive and anxiety disorders, acute psychotic episodes, suicide attempts, etc. They require a hospital setting as a protective measure or for intensive evaluation. The unit has 18 beds.
Stays are generally brief. Patients leave the hospital after treatment of the acute episode and an evaluation. In some cases, they may be transferred to a specialised unit.
