Head of Secretariat
Office for Nature and Environment | 90-100 % | Chur
The Office for Nature and Environment implements federal laws on water, environmental as well as nature and landscape protection. Our tasks include reviewing projects for compliance with environmental law, inspecting facilities, awarding grants, issuing permits, as well as environmental monitoring and education. In addition, we coordinate the implementation of the climate and biodiversity strategy.
Around 60 specialists work at the Office for Nature and Environment. The secretariat team consists of four people and is responsible for the administration of the entire office.
We are looking for a head of secretariat for the Office for Nature and Environment from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement.
- You lead the secretariat and ensure an efficient and smooth running of day-to-day business.
- You coordinate the distribution of work within the team, prioritise tasks and ensure compliance with defined processes.
- You are the first point of contact for the secretariat team as well as for the office staff regarding questions and tasks related to the secretariat.
- You further develop the secretariat’s procedures, document processes and ensure their ongoing optimisation.
- You take on diverse administrative tasks such as telephone and mail service, managing the central mailbox and registering documents in business administration.
- You review texts and coordinate the dispatch of government decisions and departmental orders.
- As a CMI power user, you support the further development of business administration and participate in projects.
- You contribute to digital transformation and other projects.
- You have completed commercial training and have several years of professional experience.
- You have already led a secretariat or have leadership experience.
- You are a quality-conscious and committed person with initiative and assertiveness.
- You have a very good grasp and enjoy diverse tasks and topics.
- You are willing to engage in changing processes as part of digital transformation.
- You have good IT user skills and are open to internal systems.
- You enjoy working in a team and are ready to complete your tasks flexibly and service-oriented.
- Your German skills are confident in spoken and written form. Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage.
