Social Worker 60 - 80 % (m/f/d), Uster and Zürich-Oerlikon
Caritas Switzerland has been operating, since March 2024 on behalf of the Cantonal Social Office of Zurich, among other things, two asylum centres with around 90 unaccompanied minor asylum seekers. The socio-pedagogical key workers are responsible for case management in asylum care and public social assistance. To strengthen the key worker teams, we are looking for a social worker in an advisory role.
Your tasks
- Contact person for socio-pedagogical key workers on specific questions regarding support guidelines and mediation of the corresponding basics
- Further development of the processes of social work case management in the MNA area
- Design of training courses, especially regarding social assistance law basics
- Coaching and support of employees in various functions in processes of social work case management and occasionally in case management questions with assumption of operational tasks in agreement with socio-pedagogical key workers
- Ensuring the subsidiarity principle (social insurances, support services, etc.)
- Active participation in the team as well as attendance at inter- and supervision sessions
Our requirements
- Degree in Social Work, Social Pedagogy (or comparable qualification)
- Knowledge and experience in the application of the Social Assistance Act and/or Asylum Care Ordinance (mandatory requirement)
- Further training in case management and/or integration topics advantageous
- Experience in social counselling and enjoyment of complex issues
- Enjoyment of conceptual work with sporadic client contact
- Knowledge of integration offers in the Canton of Zurich advantageous
- Very good oral and written German skills as well as good oral skills in another national language and/or English and/or an asylum language
- Confident handling of digital tools; experience with Tutoris advantageous
- Intercultural competence, negotiation skills and team spirit
- Structured, resilient and self-organised working style
