Company description
With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals are a nationally and internationally recognised institution. To learn more about our institution, take a few minutes to consult our 2025 retrospective by clicking here.
With nearly 1,400 employees, the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics is a medical centre focused on the elderly and is composed of 6 services spread over 5 sites: Trois-Chêne, Loëx, Bellerive, Beau-Séjour and Joli-Mont. It manages acute situations, notably through the emergency department of the Trois-Chêne hospital, age-related specific issues, medical rehabilitation and palliative care.
Located in the heart of a park on the Belle-Idée estate, the Trois-Chêne Hospital welcomes people whose health condition requires hospitalisation for geriatric care or rehabilitation treatments. The hospital has a state-of-the-art radiology unit, intermediate care, as well as an emergency service that can accommodate patients aged 75 and over, excluding life-threatening emergencies.
Job description
Thanks to your interpersonal skills and proactivity, you ensure the life and smooth running of the medical secretariat on site.
You manage telephone calls for the secretariat and reception. You support the doctors of the service by organising their appointments and communications with the attending physicians. You are mainly assigned to the Trois-Chêne hospital site, with regular replacements at other sites of the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics.
While responding to various requests, you independently carry out administrative activities related to your role such as taking notes during interdisciplinary meetings, typing documents related to patient file follow-up and movements on instruction, as well as managing correspondence.
Within the team, you develop a close relationship with your fellow secretaries and ensure continuity of service during absences. More generally, your service-oriented attitude makes you an agile person, ready to use your versatility to serve the institution by working in different services according to needs.
Qualifications
You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee and/or a medical secretary diploma, or any equivalent training deemed appropriate.
You have 1-2 years of successful experience in a similar position within a medical secretariat.
You have perfect command of French, both spoken and written, and proven writing skills. Medical terminology is easily understandable to you. Knowledge of English is an asset.
You have very good computer skills (basic ECDL level on Word required) as well as knowledge of software used at HUG (DPA, DPI, OPALE, Winscribe).
You possess a good team spirit and the ability to work in a shared office with several secretaries.
While having good organisational and prioritisation skills, you are autonomous, rigorous and precise in the tasks entrusted to you.
You also have the tools to cope with unforeseen events and easily manage stressful situations.
Finally, you demonstrate a strong sense of confidentiality.
