G&F Châtelain, branch of Chanel SARL is the watchmaking and jewelry manufacture of Chanel in Switzerland. Responsible for developing, manufacturing, and assembling the brand's watches and jewelry, our site brings together a wide variety of trades combining artisanal know-how and very high technology.
The polymecanician manufactures parts, tools, and devices in metal, sometimes also in synthetic material. He assembles devices, machines, or robots, programs, controls, maintains, and repairs industrial production installations. The nature of his work depends on the specialty of the department in which he will be active for the production of watch components (machining center, tooling, prototype). Most machines are equipped with numerical controls that the polymecanician programs to achieve the desired work. He must have extensive theoretical and practical knowledge, including machining processes, materials, heat treatments, reading plans, etc.
