Job description

To strengthen its team, the laboratory of Professor Serge NEF, Department of Genetic Medicine and Development of the Faculty of Medicine, is looking for a:
Laboratory Technician 2 (40 to 50%)
You will play a central role in the smooth running of the laboratory, providing both technical support for research projects and daily management of the facilities. If possible, continuous presence is desired (e.g. every morning).
Your activities will notably include:
- Active participation in research projects (experimentation, analyses, data organisation)
- Management and organisation of the laboratory (stocks, orders, equipment maintenance)
- Coordination of activities and support to team members
- Contribution to the implementation and optimisation of experimental protocols
- Monitoring safety standards and good laboratory practices
Required qualifications and skills
- Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as laboratory technician or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in an academic or biomedical research laboratory desirable
- Ability to work independently, organised and rigorously
- Good sense of responsibility and initiative
- Aptitude to interact with a multidisciplinary team
Desired technical skills (important assets):
- Experience in animal facility management and animal genotyping (murine models)
- Experience with histology techniques
- Experience in immunofluorescence and image analysis
- Experience in molecular or cellular biology
