The Role
As Principal Delivery Manager, you take end-to-end responsibility for the successful delivery of demanding, client-focused projects at Zühlke – from the proposal phase through planning to implementation. You act as the central point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, make independent decisions, and assume full accountability for the project outcomes. Management of scope, timelines, budget, and quality in fixed-delivery projects (contract work) including contract and risk management
Development and maintenance of roadmaps across multiple project phases and stakeholder levels
Leadership and alignment of cross-functional teams; alignment between business and tech stakeholders at decision-making level
Independent client communication, including escalation management and expectation management at C-level/senior stakeholder level
Consistent application of agile methods (Scrum, SAFe) and active further development of delivery practices within the team
Leading proposal and delivery planning activities, including effort estimation and contract design
Demonstrating a strong leadership mindset: setting direction, making decisions, taking responsibility for delivery outcomes
What Matters to Us
Several years of experience in delivering large software or technology platform projects, including proven project management experience in the insurance sector
Experience in fixed-delivery environments / contract work, including contract and scope management
Solid experience in stakeholder management and roadmapping at a strategic level
Sound, practical understanding of agile methods (e.g. Scrum, SAFe)
A strong leadership mindset with genuine end-to-end ownership – you set the direction, decide, and stand by the project results
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in dealing with diverse stakeholders, including senior/C-level
Structured, independent working style
University degree (Bachelor or higher), ideally in a technical or business administration field
Project management or agile certifications are an advantage
