Press release
Aigle, 26 February 2024
Aigle renews its support operation for shops and businesses in 2024
The Municipality has decided to relaunch the voucher scheme in favour of local shops and businesses. It will inject an amount of CHF 70,000 from 15 March.
Aware of the economic problems caused by inflation and the difficulties faced by shops and businesses in Aigle in a context of multiple construction sites and works in the town centre of Aigle, the Municipality has decided to renew in 2024 the voucher scheme already established between 2020 and 2021, during the pandemic.
The principle remains the same, namely:
The initiative will provide a welcome boost to the local economy and should generate up to CHF 350,000 in turnover for shops and businesses in Aigle. The Municipality also plans to propose shortly to the communal council to approve, during the examination of the 2023 accounts, an extraordinary allocation of part of the surplus to the "support for local trade" reserve fund in order to extend the voucher scheme until the end of the works in the town centre, at the latest by the end of 2026.
NB: Businesses will receive a letter in the coming days indicating the registration procedures for the scheme
