About the job
Your new role
The Population Services with their approximately 30 employees are the business card and first point of contact for the residents of the city at the town hall. As the head of the department, you provide various important services related to registration, permits, and civil status, administer the procedures before the conciliation board for rental/lease relationships in the housing office, and act as the control office for health insurance. You fulfill central tasks of official registry management; the personal data from the civil status or resident register are indispensable for other municipal and cantonal offices as well as for church and local communities.
As the electoral register manager and secretary of the voting office, you organize the municipal votes and elections; as secretary of the two naturalization councils, you prepare their decisions and subsequently implement them.
You work at the pulse of the city and experience its diversity daily. With your commitment, you contribute to an attractive and livable city.
This position is for you if you
- are a generalist with higher vocational training in administration, business, and/or law or have a professional qualification with several years of functionally relevant experience.
- have several years of successful leadership experience (ideally from administration) and a pronounced service orientation.
- have a flair for legal issues, digitization and process optimization topics, data protection concerns, as well as pragmatic, citizen-friendly solutions within the framework of the legal mandate.
- are a loyal, honest, and proactive trusted person who can convince with a confident appearance, fluent language skills, and high social competence.
- appreciate a versatile and responsible role with both conceptual and operational components and are willing to organize your working hours flexibly.
- have experience in project management and are willing to engage in cantonal/national committees and working groups.
