The Church District Six belongs to the Zurich Church Community and includes the church locations Matthäus, Letten, Oberstrass, Paulus and Unterstrass. We are an open and diverse church district where community and good food belong together. Culinary art, hospitality and a warm interaction with each other shape our daily life. For our communal lunches and other events, we are looking for you from August 2026 or by arrangement as
Your tasks
- Preparation of meals for different target groups: children, adults, seniors as well as people with dementia
- Main responsibility for the culinary process, starting from menu planning, calculation, purchasing, cooking to cleaning the kitchen
- Collaboration with volunteers and unskilled helpers in the kitchen as well as with the responsible social deacons in planning
- Management of food supplies
- Compliance with cantonal food regulations
- Participation in meetings, networking with the team and handling your own administrative tasks
Your profile
- Qualification as a cook EFZ or several years of professional experience in independently planning and preparing meals for up to 100 people
- Enjoyment in guiding volunteers/laypersons and working in an interprofessional team
- Openness, patience and ability to work in a team
- Willingness to take on irregular shifts on days other than the weekly lunch tables on Wednesday or Thursday and at weekends (6 to 10 events per year)
- Sense of responsibility in handling food and hygiene regulations
- Good German language skills in spoken and written form as well as good Microsoft Office user skills
