In this exciting and responsible position, you work as a protection specialist, take care of its implementation in renewals and new constructions, and support network operations in case of faults. You actively shape the future of electricity supply and ensure the highest quality and safety.

In this varied role, you work as a protection expert for Swissgrid and take on the following tasks:
- Support in the development of test, protection concepts, protection standards, and the creation of fault analyses in case of trips
- Support in quality assurance for projects in the field of Substation Automation Systems
- Implementation of applicable technical standards, economic, ecological and regulatory requirements, as well as safety regulations in the respective area of responsibility
- Identification of innovative solution approaches in the field of protection Substation Automation Systems
- Representation of Swissgrid in task-related expert committees
- Ensuring the implementation of occupational safety, health and environmental protection, and active contribution to the "Safety First" culture
- Possible work locations are Aarau, Landquart, Uznach, or Prilly as desired

- Completed engineering degree (Bachelor/Master) or comparable technical education
- Excellent expertise in the field of Substation Automation Systems
- Good conceptual skills and ability to unite different interests of various parties
- Several years of experience with protection and fault analysis in power grids
- Good German and English skills, spoken and written

About us
Our SAS protection team consists of experienced electrical engineers from various countries. High intrinsic motivation, personal responsibility, solution orientation, and constructive collaboration characterize us as a team. We use our knowledge and energy to make SAS systems simple and safe to operate. To optimally fulfill our tasks both qualitatively and quantitatively, we work closely with project management, system operations, plant managers, and the strategy department. In addition, we maintain close contact and dialogue with other Swiss and foreign grid operators.
The team takes on the following tasks
Development and technical support in the realization and operation of automation systems for substations in the Swiss
- High-voltage grid in the field of protection systems
- Technical contributions to norms and standards
- Technical know-how management
- Support in fault analyses
- Active collaboration on all topics within Swissgrid where our expertise in protection systems is required
- Representation of Swissgrid in expert committees (VSE, ENTSO-E, etc.) on protection topics
