About the job
New Major Versions of the Swissdec Standards
Swissdec published the guidelines for the new Swissdec standards in April 2026. A new major version is available for each standard in the three data domains: ELM 6.0, KLE 2.0, Swissdec EO Standard 1.0, and eBilanz 1.0. The guidelines for the common technical foundation, the so-called basic services, were also published.
These standards will only have practical effects for you as a user from 2027 onwards. Nevertheless, we would like to inform you below about the most important points.
The following Swissdec standards have been newly published:
1. Payroll Data Domain: ELM 6.0
The standard covers the annual/monthly payroll reports.
ELM 6.0 integrates all minor versions from ELM 5.1 to 5.5 and consolidates the developments into one major version.
The guidelines have been structurally adapted and completely revised. All schema elements are clearly described and fully documented.
2. Benefits Data Domain: KLE 2.0 and EO Standard 1.0
The standard covers digital data exchange for sickness and accident as well as for service cases.
Most adjustments concern additional or supplementary information; both for insurers and companies.
The guidelines have been aligned with the requirements of the basic services and unified in structure with the other standards. This means: same structure, same logic, a common foundation for all standards.
The Swissdec EO Standard 1.0 is being published for the first time.
3. Finance Data Domain eBilanz 1.0: Balance Sheet and Income Statement
The standard covers the automated transmission and exchange of tax-relevant data. The eBilanz 1.0 standard is being published for the first time.
4. Basic Services such as Distributor, SUA, eProfile, Test Infrastructure, Services, etc.
The standard covers transmission, security, and authentication as the basis for all professional standards.
The Swissdec standards are newly modular and the complexity has thus been reduced. They are now based on the same technical foundation, the so-called basic services. These provide central functions such as security and authentication uniformly. Building on this, the individual standards consist of professional modules that are used depending on the standard. The guidelines have been structurally adapted and completely revised. This approach creates more stability, clearer structures, and easier further development across all data domains for the Swissdec ecosystem. For ERP providers, this results in advantages in implementation.
The professional content of the standards has been updated and adapted to current legal and organisational requirements.
The guidelines for all new major versions are now available under the respective standards and valid from 1 April 2026. Links to the standards:

For interested professionals, Swissdec invites you to the "Forum Swissdec 2026" on 19 May 2026 at Wankdorf in Bern. This is the most important event for software partners and interested parties to exchange information about the technical and professional details of the new versions (especially ELM 6.0).
SelectLine has already included the implementation of the necessary adjustments regarding ELM 6.0 in the roadmap. We will inform you about the implementation in due course. If you have specific questions, please feel free to contact our support.
