Head of Accounting 80 - 100%The juvenile criminal justice service of the Canton of Zurich, with its approximately 120 employees, investigates and assesses offences committed by young people between the ages of ten and eighteen. The five regional juvenile public prosecutor's offices conduct criminal investigations and are responsible for the enforcement of juvenile criminal law protective measures and penalties. The senior juvenile public prosecutor's office bears overall responsibility for the planning, management and control of juvenile criminal justice services, provides services for the juvenile public prosecutor's offices and acts as their supervisory body.
We are looking for a responsible and committed individual as Head of Accounting 80 – 100%, to start immediately or by arrangement.
These tasks await you:
- Professional and personnel management of the 2-3 employees of the central accounting department (accounts payable, accounts receivable and client accounting)
- Ensuring orderly, period- and deadline-compliant bookkeeping as well as collaboration on interim and annual financial statements, budgeting and planning
- Responsibility for uniform financial processes, their documentation as well as continuous optimisation and further development
- Contact person for professional queries and close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders on finance-related matters
- Participation in operational day-to-day business as needed as well as support and deputising in controlling
- Participation in financial projects, especially in cooperation with the Finance Directorate and internal offices
- Promotion and further development of employees as well as support of operational accounting in case of personnel shortages
This is what sets you apart:
- Commercial basic training with further education at the higher technical college (HF) level in finance and accounting or a bachelor's degree in a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in finance and accounting, preferably in the public administration
- Leadership experience
- Very good user knowledge of MS Office and SAP
- Independent, prudent and service-oriented working style as well as high resilience
- Loyalty, discretion and a confident handling of demanding situations and sensitive dossiers
