About the job
Based in Morat, in the canton of Fribourg, Swiss-Green Engineering Sàrl is a Swiss company specialised since 2009 in renewable energies, with particular expertise in photovoltaics and energy storage solutions.
Our activity covers the entire energy chain: solar production, battery storage, off-grid autonomous systems, grid-connected installations and embedded energy solutions. We design and market solutions intended for both individuals and professionals, with one goal: to promote more autonomous, sustainable and intelligent energy.
Swiss-Green Engineering also stands out for its strong technical expertise. The company notably designs its own SMARTES storage systems in Switzerland and supports its clients and partners in the study, sizing, commissioning and technical support of their installations.
On a human scale, our team operates in a sector undergoing major transformation, at the crossroads of engineering, technological innovation and the energy transition.
Your mission :
Reporting directly to Management, you take responsibility for the Engineering Office of Swiss-Green Engineering, currently composed of two on-site engineers and one senior engineer working remotely.
Your role combines two inseparable dimensions: directly managing technical projects, and ensuring the leadership, coordination and structuring of the Engineering Office.
An experienced engineer and hands-on manager, you personally intervene in the design and sizing of our solutions while being the managerial reference for the team. You work closely with our technical manager.
Your objective: to secure project completion, develop the skills and autonomy of the team and progressively build common, effective working methods adapted to our SME environment.
This position does not consist of remotely supervising the work of an Engineering Office.
You will be directly involved in projects, while providing the team with the expertise, leadership and framework necessary for its development.
Your challenge will be to simultaneously advance projects, staff and the organisation of the Engineering Office, in order to build a technically solid, autonomous team capable of sustainably supporting the development of Swiss-Green Engineering.
Your main responsibilities :
Technical design of projects and client relations
- Directly take charge of the study, design and sizing of photovoltaic projects, battery storage, electrical installations and off-grid systems.
- Analyse client needs and constraints and define suitable solutions. Ensure technical contact with clients and partners within the scope of your projects.
- Carry out feasibility studies, analyses, calculations and sizing necessary for projects.
- Develop plans, diagrams, documents and technical files necessary for their completion.
- Handle technical issues related to your projects and collaborate with the technical referent when their expertise or validation is required.
- Participate in technical visits, commissioning and on-site interventions as required by projects.
Project and technical office management
- Organise and coordinate the activity of the Engineering Office.
- Distribute projects and workload according to skills, priorities and availability.
- Monitor study progress and ensure deadlines and quality requirements are met.
- Identify and anticipate technical risks or difficulties. Challenge and validate technical choices proposed by the team.
- Ensure effective coordination with other departments: sales, purchasing, logistics, assembly, commissioning and after-sales service.
Team management and development
- Supervise and support engineers in the completion of their projects.
- Act as a technical referent and provide the expertise necessary to resolve complex issues.
- Organise knowledge sharing and best practices within the Engineering Office.
- Promote direct, effective and collaborative communication. Ensure good coordination between the on-site team and remote employees.
Structuring and continuous improvement
- Analyse the functioning of the Engineering Office and identify main areas for improvement.
- Clarify roles, responsibilities and project processing steps.
- Propose and formalise common working methods, standards, models and tools. Improve the capitalisation and sharing of technical knowledge.
- Implement control and validation methods adapted to project challenges.
- Utilise feedback from assembly, commissioning and after-sales service to improve developed solutions.
- Propose to Management relevant organisational, methodological or technical evolutions and, after validation, support their implementation.
We are primarily looking for a senior engineer with solid technical expertise who wishes to maintain strong operational involvement while taking leadership of a small team.
You have a higher education in electrical engineering, energy or a technical field relevant to the role, as well as proven experience in the design and sizing of electrical and energy systems.
Languages: Excellent command of French, both spoken and written. Good command of German, minimum B2 level.
