As part of a new EU research and innovation project, we are opening a position for:
Transport Engineer (80% to 100%)
(maximum duration contract until April 30, 2027)
Your mission
You will anticipate and support societal changes in the world of transport; thus, you will participate in the development of multimodal and inclusive mobility solutions offered by Geneva public transport and their partners in the Greater Geneva area.
Your main responsibilities
- Design and implement the activities of tpg in the context of a new EU research and innovation project ("Horizon" program),
- in this context, develop the integration of new forms of mobility into the service offerings of tpg, with a focus on social inclusivity,
- use diverse data to pragmatically and analytically address the potentials of new offers, evaluate existing offers, and design the interconnection of public, private, and shared transport networks,
- establish and maintain professional and sustained relationships with all partners while ensuring to defend the interests of the company, both internally and with external stakeholders in your area of expertise.
Your profile
- Engineering degree or in social sciences with a specialization in the field of mobility or an equivalent qualification,
- 2 to 5 years of experience at the interface of public transport and shared mobility; failing that, a strong interest in these areas and/or the completion of academic work on a related subject,
- knowledge of the principles of social inclusivity and accessibility in the transport of people/urban space, particularly regarding passenger information, and interest in developing them,
- relational ease and skills in citizen participation (for example, conducting discussion groups with stakeholders, interviews),
- mastery of the collection, management, and analysis of mobility data,
- perfect command of English and French (spoken and written),
- recognized skills in project management, ideally in the context of research and innovation projects of the Confederation and/or the European Union is an asset,
- experience in modeling or simulating behavior in terms of mobility is an asset,
- good ability to write reports; experience in writing scientific publications is an advantage,
- knowledge of the political organization and the Geneva economy, of cantonal and federal legislation regarding transport,
- autonomous, organized, and methodical by nature, proactive and bringing your own vision on the subject,
- excellent interpersonal skills, service-oriented, and team spirit,
- ability to withstand stress and periods of high workload.
