Presentation
Candidates are invited to apply for a funded Ph.D. position at the Department of Fundamental Neurosciences (DNF) at UNIL. The Ph.D. project aims to shed light on the link between sleep and neurodegeneration in the noradrenergic system of the brain. It is a multidisciplinary approach performed in the mouse.

Contract length : 1 year, renewable.

Your responsibilities
The successful candidate will work on a project using state-of-the-art sleep recordings in mouse, viral targeting strategies, fiber photometry and optogenetics, histology and behavior. In addition, the candidate will have opportunities to embrace already established techniques in the lab and develop novel approaches.
Your qualifications
Highly motivated, curious, and driven.
MSc in life science, preferably in neuroscience.
Advanced understanding of neuroscience concepts and techniques in mouse.
Knowledge in cell biology, genetics, and behavior.
Fluency in oral and written English.
Desired qualifications
Experience in mouse model systems, neuronal tracing techniques, mouse behavior, or fluorescence microscopy.
