Job Description
Summary of responsibilities:
Reporting to the Evening Floor Housekeeper, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently providing a professional, friendly and pleasant service
- Inspecting rooms according to hotel standards
- Supervising the housekeeping team, noting in the instruction book and participating in relocations
- Motivating employees in their work, encouraging and supporting them
- Assisting team members if needed
- Ensuring communication between floor staff and management
- Passing on necessary information to superiors for the smooth running of the department
- Familiarising oneself with the floors assigned by the Assistant Executive Housekeeper or Executive Housekeeper as well as various instructions (agenda/email/memos) and following up
- Informing floor staff of corrective actions to be taken when inspecting rooms and ensuring maintenance of standards related to floor staff
- Organising the schedule of one’s sector based on the Opera system report and adjusting it according to hotel priorities
- Always knowing the progress of one’s team
- Participating in the training of new department employees
- Ensuring the proper upkeep of floors, offices and equipment
- Covering the evening supervisor’s leave twice a week
- Actively participating in the development of total quality management, notably through improvement proposals
- Participating in an annual performance review with one’s superior
- Knowing the technical and emotional LQA standards and applying them daily through internal audits
- Committing to the quality of service, discretion and absolute honesty
- Maintaining a professional attitude, smiling and remaining calm at all times
- Respecting ergonomic work standards, health & safety rules, hygiene and sanitary regulations
- Respecting departmental and company policies, procedures and service standards
- Performing any other assigned tasks
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Recognised hotel diploma or certificate is an asset
- Minimum 6 months supervisory experience
- At least 1 year experience in 4* and 5* hotel housekeeping
- Fluent verbal and written French
- Good knowledge of English
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency with computer tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Opera system is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to focus on customer needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times
