Job Description
This is a hospital-university position for a chief physician or head of the Cardiology Department, including a professorial fraction. This position is attached to the hospital and academic Departments of Medicine.
The candidate must have extensive clinical experience in cardiology as well as recognised management, communication and leadership skills to lead a large university clinical department with a high activity level and recognised as a centre of excellence in Switzerland. Through their work, the candidate will supervise, organise and develop the activity within their department, which includes four activity sectors: an inpatient sector, an interventional cardiology sector, an outpatient sector and a medical imaging sector. They will need to maintain and strengthen existing relationships with other HUG departments, with the Diagnostic Department for cardiovascular imaging, and also maintain and develop strong links with peripheral clinics and hospitals.
The ability to lead high-level research in cardiology is required, as well as recognised skills in mentoring, team management and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Qualifications
You hold a Doctorate in Medicine and a specialisation in cardiology or equivalent qualifications.
You have relevant experience in research leadership and teaching.
Publications in major international journals.
