About the job
Administration
Medical Secretary for the Liaison Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit
The Department of Psychiatry at CHUV is seeking a medical secretary at a 40% workload for the liaison child and adolescent psychiatry unit at the Nestlé Hospital in Lausanne. The contract is permanent and the starting date is scheduled for 1 September 2026 or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. In collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research, and education.
The Liaison Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit at CHUV cares for children, women, mothers, and their families under the Department of Woman-Mother-Child (DFME) at CHUV.
Its mission is to provide psychological care to children hospitalised in paediatrics and paediatric surgery departments, also supporting their families, in close collaboration with the medical and nursing teams of these departments. It has developed specific hospital-ambulatory care models with various specialised consultations in paediatrics and paediatric surgery (paediatric oncology, functional disorders, metabolic diseases, perinatal medicine, medical genetics, for example).
Our unit also operates in the Maternity ward, both pre- and post-partum, as well as in the Neonatology Service, to offer support to children, parents, and the parent-child relationship. It thus has expertise in perinatal psychiatry and severe early parent-baby pathologies. It also actively participates in the prevention of child abuse, in collaboration with the CAN-Team, whether in Maternity or paediatrics.
Finally, it also cares for children and adolescents hospitalised for child and adolescent psychiatric reasons in paediatrics, offering child and adolescent psychiatric assessment, therapeutic orientation, and/or crisis psychotherapeutic work.

- You handle administrative management tasks for patients (opening, updating data, closing files)
- You perform checks on the entry of services
- You ensure the reception and orientation of unit users
- You manage the unit’s telephone calls
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification, ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma
- You have at least 2 years of experience in autonomous medical secretarial work
- You have excellent command of French, both spoken and written (a foreign language is an asset)
- You possess excellent skills in common IT tools
- You have a service-oriented attitude and appreciate working in a multidisciplinary team
