Chief Resident or Deputy at the North Vaud Psychiatry Centre
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a chief resident or deputy chief resident at an 80% activity rate for the adult hospital units of the North Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service (SPPAN), within the North Vaud Psychiatry Centre (CPNVD) in Yverdon-les-Bains. The start date is scheduled for 1 August 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The North Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service (SPPAN) is one of the clinical services of the Department of Psychiatry. It provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and local care for people suffering from mental disorders in the North Vaud region, in close collaboration with care network partners.
The teams work according to a multidisciplinary model, bringing together doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other health professionals.
Located in the heart of Yverdon-les-Bains, the North Vaud Psychiatry Centre (CPNVD) is part of an integrated community psychiatry approach, promoting accessibility of care and social reintegration of hospitalised persons.
The role of relatives is actively valued and integrated into care.
Mission
- You ensure, in collaboration with the responsible doctor, the clinical supervision of the multidisciplinary team in all its activities
- You carry out direct clinical activity with patients and their relatives
- You contribute to the training and supervision of the unit's assistant doctors and psychologists
- You participate in ensuring the quality of interfaces between the unit, other service units, and network partners
- You take part in second-line on-call duties within the organisation of the unit and service.
Profile
- You hold an FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or an equivalent title recognised by MEBEKO, or are in the process of obtaining it
- You have a strong interest in general psychiatry and interdisciplinary work
- You have good experience in the care of psychiatric patients in outpatient and/or hospital settings
- You are able to work in a multidisciplinary team and share your knowledge
- You have at least B2 level French proficiency (certificate required for non-French-speaking candidates).
