At FINMA, you analyze insurance companies and actively shape supervision with your decisions.
Main Tasks
- Participation in supervisory activities over insurance companies, especially in cases of intensified supervision (TIS)
- Independent analysis of financial, risk, or governance information of the supervised companies, sometimes with support from subject matter experts
- Assessment of measures to restore the proper condition of the supervised entities
- Participation in (on-site) inspections of the supervised entities and in the follow-up of agreed measures
- Dialogue with representatives of the supervised entities (from specialists to members of the board of directors) and their auditing firms
- Mutual support, knowledge transfer, and representation within the team as well as responsibility for or participation in working groups and projects
Profile
- University/college degree (Mathematics, Business/Economics, Law or Natural Sciences)
- At least 4 – 7 years of professional experience with a primary insurer with insight into risk management, audit, or insurance technology, with an auditing firm or with a supervisory authority
- In-depth knowledge in financial and risk analysis as well as good market knowledge
- Quick comprehension, pronounced ability to combine information, and a portion of tenacity
- Empathetic, communicative personality with a convincing presence, negotiation skills, and assertiveness
- Affinity for interdisciplinary collaboration and pronounced team spirit
- Excellent language skills in German (C2), good knowledge of French (B2), English skills are an advantage.
