The Office for Spatial Development is looking to fill the position of Cantonal Monument Conservator (60%) again from 1 February 2027 or by agreement.

Tasks
- Management of the Department of Monument Conservation and Archaeology
- Cantonal contact point for monument and townscape protection, built cultural heritage and historic transport routes
- Assessment of construction projects in planning and building permit procedures
- Advice and support for restoration projects
- Review and updating of the cantonal protection inventory and implementation of protection measures
- Public relations work
- Cooperation with the cantonal specialist office for cultural property protection
- Secretariat of the cantonal nature and heritage protection commission
Expectations
- Completed studies in art history, architecture or a comparable field, with a focus on building research, monument conservation and repurposing
- Several years of practical experience in monument preservation, preferably in administration
- Negotiation and communication skills in dealing with various stakeholders
- Systematic and precise working method, accurate linguistic expression and legal interest
- Independence, resilience and flexibility
