Head Nurse
As part of the development of its activities, our medico-social establishment is looking for a head nurse.
Reporting to management, the head nurse leads the care service. They participate, within their area of expertise, in the management of the establishment, provide management with the necessary assessment elements for decision-making, and ensure the implementation of the decided orientations.
They guarantee the quality, safety, and continuity of care services, respecting the institution's values, legal and regulatory requirements, as well as good professional practices. They contribute, along with other managers, to the development of the establishment and the continuous improvement of its operation.
The role
- The head nurse is responsible for the organisation and operation of the care service.
- They implement the care policy defined by management, monitor its evolution, and ensure that human and organisational resources meet the residents' needs.
- They supervise the care teams, promote the development of their skills, support frontline managers, and maintain a working environment based on trust, respect, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- They lead continuous improvement initiatives, oversee quality assessments and indicators, ensure the application of procedures, and participate in the evolution of professional practices.
- In collaboration with management, they participate in human resources management, workforce planning, budget preparation for their sector, and the steering of institutional projects.
- They maintain close relationships with the attending physician, general practitioners, families, healthcare network partners, and competent authorities, with a constant focus on ensuring quality care.
Profile sought
- You hold a nursing diploma recognised by the Swiss Red Cross. CAS in health institution management, or equivalent training, required (or to be obtained during employment).
- You have proven experience in a managerial role, ideally in a medico-social establishment or in geriatrics.
- You possess a good knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to nursing homes, quality approaches, as well as management and planning tools specific to the care sector.
- You are recognised for your leadership, sense of responsibility, analytical and decision-making skills, as well as your ability to unite teams around common goals.
- You know how to combine rigour, listening, discernment, and a sense of dialogue, and are comfortable in an environment where the quality of human relations is an essential condition for the quality of services.
