Head of Accounting 80 - 100% (m/f/d)

What is my role?

Our client is looking for a Head of Accounting who moves more in the finance sector than just pure numbers. In this key role, you actively shape the future of financial accounting by combining classic accounting expertise with modern AI approaches. As a central leadership figure, you position accounting as a real success factor. In doing so, you act as a sparring partner for the CFO and are part of the Finance & Controlling management team. Your tasks include:

• Leading and further developing a committed team

• Comprehensive responsibility for accounting including general and subsidiary ledgers as well as the corresponding processes

• Bringing in expertise in tax accounting, accounting of subsidiaries and consolidation

• Promoter and initiator of innovation - continuous professional and technological development of a well-coordinated, high-performing team

• Driving further automation, using change management tools and actively contributing approaches from artificial intelligence to improve process and SAP system landscapes

• Together with the team, you are responsible for the timely and high-quality preparation of the financial statements according to OR and Swiss GAAP FER

• Direct collaboration with the CFO as a sparring partner for strategic and operational questions in accounting

What do I need to be successful?

• Master’s degree (university, university of applied sciences) or equivalent in the finance field as well as several years of relevant practical and leadership experience in financial accounting

• Extensive expertise in accounting, financial reporting according to Swiss GAAP FER and OR, consolidation and integration of subsidiaries

• Comprehensive experience in team leadership and project management

• Strong drive for innovation and automation, ideally supported by initial experience in the use of artificial intelligence in accounting

• Ability to conceptually further develop accounting processes and ensure the highest quality standards

• You are communicative, solution-oriented, have an appreciative leadership style and love to get stuck in and implement ideas

• Very good German skills, ideally good French skills as well

• You are resilient and remain calm in critical situations
