About the job
The Kantonsschule Küsnacht is a well-established high school in the region with cultural influence. The school program includes a musical and modern language Matura profile with a lower secondary level. In both profiles, a bilingual Matura course in German/English can be taken. The school has around 615 students, about 120 teachers, and 16 staff members in administration and operations. Manageable conditions, good infrastructure, and a school campus in a prime location in the center of Küsnacht shape the familiar school atmosphere.
At the start of the 2026/27 school year (August 2026), a position in the vice principal's office at 80-100% is to be newly filled.
Your tasks
- You are responsible for the admission procedure (ZAP).
- You participate in the planning and supervision of projects for school development and the promotion of school quality.
- You supervise classes as a contact person for teachers as well as students and their parents.
- You supervise subject departments and conduct evaluations of teachers.
- You participate in commissions and working groups and manage your files independently.
Your profile
You are familiar with the upper secondary level from your own teaching experience and appreciate daily interaction with young people. With regard to the further development of the school, you are very interested in pedagogical, educational policy, and cultural issues. You have skill in dealing with teachers and staff as well as with school authorities and official bodies. You are a team-oriented, resilient, and communicative personality with a confident and convincing presence. In addition to a high level of commitment, you also have a strong sense of organizational matters.
Formal requirements for an application are a completed university degree, a teaching diploma for Matura schools (or a comparable qualification), and several years of teaching experience in a subject taught at our school. As vice principal, you will teach ten lessons per week.
