Aigle will be the Swiss City of Taste 2025

After the Valposchiavo valley (GR), the Swiss region of Taste 2024, it is now the turn of the City of Aigle (VD) to take up the torch for the 2025 edition. The capital of the Chablais district promises a rich programme that will take place over an entire year starting from 12 December 2024 and culminating with the Week of Taste, between 18 and 28 September 2025.

Located at the foot of renowned vineyard slopes, in the heart of the Chablais plain and at the crossroads of many Alpine destinations, the City of Aigle has many assets to assume the role of "Swiss City of Taste 2025". The announcement was made on 22 September at Aigle Castle, during the final of the Vaud Championship for apprentice bakers-pastry chefs-confectioners followed by a brunch and a tasting of the wines awarded at the 2024 Mondial du Chasselas. During the official part, Josef Zisyadis, president of the Foundation for the Promotion of Taste, passed the baton to Stéphane Montangero, municipal councillor and president of the organising committee Aigle Swiss City of Taste 2025. The committee affirmed its commitment to promoting and preserving culinary heritage, respecting local products and healthy, sustainable food, with the ambition to include an entire region between Étivaz (which obtained the first AOP certification in Switzerland), Leysin (Alpine Village of Taste since 2020) and the Salines of Bex (one of the Great Sites of Taste).

Events labelled "Aigle Swiss City of Taste 2025"

To highlight the richness of this regional heritage, Aigle will host a series of events listed in its calendar, enriched with proposals and events labelled "Swiss City of Taste 2025". They will begin on World Chasselas Day, 12 December 2024, and will be spread over a year, until 12 December 2025. During the actual Week of Taste, from 18 to 28 September 2025, the Chablais city will call on all representatives of the food trades and local artisans to ensure a festive atmosphere in the town centre. The creation of a "Chablais Menu" already makes the organising committee salivate, which intends to highlight the regional culinary heritage and thus contribute to a form of legacy for the taste buds of future generations. To meet this challenge, Aigle, as the capital of Chasselas, a wine-growing and intercultural city, known in the field of sport (with the headquarters of the International Cycling Union) and culture (Aigle Castle and architectural heritage), is enthusiastically preparing to offer this 2025 Taste edition an ideal setting and a terroir rich in flavours.
