Are you an editor with experience in community journalism and eager to find topics that currently concern the people in Basel, to advance our internationally awarded format "Question of the Day," which already reaches 1000 users daily? And to implement stories from the community as well as write briefings? Then apply! Start is January 2026 or by arrangement.
Bajour is the journalistic online forum for people in and around Basel. We accompany, curate, organize, and moderate the most important discourses of the city. As a young media house, we reach with refreshing and committed local journalism every day
20,000 people from Basel and the region. With editorial and digital content as well as analog events, we are merged with the city, launch and moderate social debates, and deliver local journalism from and for the interested community.
As a complement to our team, we are looking for:
a community editor, 80%, from January or by arrangement
You should bring the following knowledge and skills:
- The conviction that credible journalism is also a service for the readers
- The desire to ignite the next level of the Question of the Day and make it the marketplace of constructive opinions as well as to set new impulses for Bajour's community projects
- The motivation to bring joy to people in the morning
- A feel for topics that concern Basel
- Experience in community journalism is desired
- Good knowledge of the media and political world in the Basel region
- At least 2 years of experience in journalism, good writing skills, and the urge to try new storytelling forms
- Experience in writing newsletters is a plus
