Swiss Sleep House Bern is establishing the first competence centre for sleep and sleep health in Switzerland, which offers individuals and organisations from sport, health, and business a point of contact and advisory service for questions and problems related to sleep. It forms a subunit of the Sleep-Wake-Epilepsy Centre of the Inselspital and is thus part of the University Clinic for Neurology. In addition to early detection and diagnosis of sleep-wake disorders, as well as training of specialists, the focus of Swiss Sleep House Bern is on cognitive behavioural therapy for sleep-wake disorders. Currently, Swiss Sleep House is developing a digital care model supported by Health Promotion Switzerland for nationwide early detection and prevention of sleep-wake disorders, which aims to prevent chronic conditions and enable low-threshold, innovative prevention services. For clinical work at Swiss Sleep House Bern, we are immediately seeking a psychologist, ideally with a specialist title in psychotherapy or in advanced psychotherapy training.
What to expect
- Independent assessment, diagnosis, and therapy of patients with sleep-wake disorders and psychiatric comorbidities in a multidisciplinary medical-psychological team
- Organisation and conduct of group therapies and courses for people with sleep disorders (such as insomnia, parasomnias, snoring and sleep apnoea, fatigue) taking into account the latest scientific and professional findings
- Support in implementing the project for digital prevention, early detection, and blended stepped-care treatment of people with sleep-wake disorders funded by Health Promotion Switzerland
- Opportunity to give informational talks on sleep-wake disorders to the public as well as within the framework of training and further education of specialists
What you bring
- Federal advanced training certificate in psychotherapy or in advanced training and professional experience as a psychotherapist
- Desirable: experience in diagnosis and therapy of patients with sleep disorders
- Interest in health prevention and research
- Experience in developing new therapy offerings
- French and English language skills are an advantage
