Apprenticeship as a Network Electrician EFZ
with a focus on Energy
Starting August 1, 2026
In the energy focus, network electricians lay low and high voltage lines underground. They prepare cable ends for connection, install junction boxes, and connect the cables to network elements (transformer stations, building connections). For overhead lines, they erect poles to which the power and communication lines are attached. Another area of responsibility is the construction and maintenance of transformer stations and distributors. Network electricians with a focus on energy also take care of the maintenance of public lighting on streets, paths, and squares. They check the light fixtures, replace defective lamps, and pull in new cables if necessary. And that's exactly what you're looking for: variety in the profession, the latest technology, teamwork, and above all, working outdoors.
You will learn with us
- Construction, operation, and maintenance of lines and distribution systems for the transport of electrical energy
- Installation of overhead and cable lines with the necessary installations for the power conductors
- New and renovation of public lighting systems
- Expansion and renovation of switch and transformer stations
- Use of terrain vehicles with cable winches
