The selected candidate must have a research record demonstrating confirmed expertise in the relationships between French literature and media. An interest in the contemporary evolution of literature and intermediality is particularly sought after. Research on digital methods in literature is an asset. They will also be expected to contribute to the interdisciplinary programs of the Faculty of Arts as well as to the doctoral schools of the Walter Benjamin Kolleg or inter-university programs of the CUSO. They must actively engage in academic succession and in the search for external funding.
A doctorate in French or comparative literature and a solid scientific record in the field of designation are required to apply. In addition to a perfect command of the French language, the language of instruction, the selected candidate must demonstrate knowledge of German, or, if necessary, commit to learning German within two years. The position will be filled at the level of assistant professor with tenure track for a maximum duration of 6 years before the position is transformed into an extraordinary professorship in case of positive evaluation.
The application dossier (cover letter, curriculum vitae, lists of publications, teaching, external funding obtained, and academic responsibilities) should be sent as a single PDF document to Korbinian Seitz, administrative director of the dean's office, by 1.9.2025.
