My Teeth – Explaining Child's Rights! - Part 4
Brush and care for your teeth – that’s how good you can be!
– Make sure you eat as little sugar as possible, but rather drink water instead of sweetened drinks. Nowadays, there are many good alternatives when it comes to sugar in food.
– Always brush your teeth after every meal and not only when you have to go to school! 😉 Teeth should also be clean on free days.
– Let your mummy or daddy help you – certainly until the age when you start school, they should still help you brush your teeth in the evening. This ensures your teeth are well brushed at least once a day. – The bedtime snack in the evening should be eaten before brushing your teeth and not afterwards, otherwise the dangerous plaque will remain on your teeth throughout the night.
– Show your friends how to do it properly too.
Beware – tooth decay attacks – the biggest enemy of your teeth!
The biggest enemy of your teeth is undoubtedly tooth decay, also called cavities. Tooth decay usually starts at the bottom of the tooth grooves or at the contact points between teeth. At the beginning of this "illness" it does not hurt. But as tooth decay progresses, the enamel is attacked and a hole forms in the tooth, which leads to the tooth becoming completely damaged. The damaged tooth is now very sensitive to cold air, but also to sweet, hot or cold drinks and foods.
Therefore, it is worth taking good care of your teeth from the start by not constantly eating sweets, brushing your teeth well after every meal, and regularly visiting your family dentist for check-ups. We are very happy to support you with this.
