► What if not all parties work digitally?

Then a media disruption occurs and a switch to paper may be necessary. Therefore, prior coordination is advisable.

► What happens if there is no reception?

A QR code can only be read with an internet connection. As an alternative to scanning the QR code on site, the data can be shared in advance via WhatsApp or e-mail. An extract with the QR code can also be generated and printed. As a driver, you take over the data as soon as you have an internet connection again.

► What happens in case of system failure?

The paper form serves as a fallback level. In the event of a mobile device failure, the data remains centrally stored and can be accessed via other devices.

► Why should I give the app access to my location data?

Granting permission is voluntary. If you agree, the location data is saved during loading and unloading. The location data gives us the chance to make the app even easier to use in the future. The data is not passed on to anyone; control authorities do not have access to it.

► Which slaughterhouses support e-transit?

Direct deliveries to the Bell Oensingen slaughterhouse are possible. Other large slaughterhouses are to follow. Deliveries with e-transit to small slaughterhouses are currently not possible.

► Is e-transit usable for deliveries to markets?

No, not for now. We are in contact with the markets to enable this in the future.

► What must I do if I am inspected?

During inspections by Swiss Animal Protection or veterinary service staff, you show the QR code. Inspectors can scan it and view the data on their devices. The police do not have the e-transit app installed; during police checks, you show the data on your mobile device.

► Are red accompanying documents possible with e-transit?

No, not for now. The option will be examined soon. We are in contact with the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (BLV) to enable this in the future.

► What about e-transit pigs?

The new app only supports cattle. Unlike the old e-transit pigs app, the new cattle app was developed and tested together with the industry.

► Do veterinary services have direct access to all e-transit data?

No, they continue to have direct access only to the data of the accompanying documents they inspect on the day of transport. During operational inspections, the animal keepers or slaughterhouses must grant access to the electronic accompanying document archive.
