About the job

The Aargau Visual Aid Counseling Center offers professional assistance for people with visual impairments in the canton of Aargau. Our services include counseling in the specialized areas of Low Vision, social work, daily living aids, as well as rehabilitation measures in orientation and mobility and practical life skills.

We are looking for a

Low Vision Specialist 60-80%

starting immediately or by arrangement

Your tasks

Independent execution of Low Vision assessments (measuring distance visual acuity, contrast vision, magnification needs, binocular functions, etc.)

Counseling primarily adults regarding suitable optical aids (magnifiers, magnifying glasses, video magnifiers, lamps, etc.)

Counseling visually impaired people and their relatives

Support in asserting claims against social insurance

Job-related administrative tasks

Participation in the further development of the counseling center's offerings

Interdisciplinary collaboration with internal and external specialist centers

Your profile

Training as an Orthoptist HF (SRK recognition required for foreign diplomas),

Optometrist FH or Rehabilitation Expert HFP specializing in Low Vision

Experience working with visually impaired people

High social competence and independent working style

Willingness to specialize if needed
