Apprentice: Physics Laboratory Technician EFZ for 2027

Area of work:

The physics laboratory technician works in research and development laboratories,

materials / quality testing, as well as in production and assembly. On behalf of and in collaboration with developers, engineers, and scientists, they conduct investigations and experiments with physical, electronic, optical, and mechanical devices. They assemble apparatus and auxiliary equipment for experiments and assembly systems. Additionally, they keep precise records and evaluate the results using graphs and diagrams.

Requirements:

• Interest in physics and technology

• Manual dexterity

• Reliability, patience

• High endurance and concentration ability

• Logical and abstract thinking skills

• Technical understanding and improvisation skills, creativity

• Good imagination and powers of observation

• Ability to work in a team

• Good to very good secondary school student

Training:

• Duration of apprenticeship, 4 years

• Vocational school, TBZ Zurich
