The Directorate for Security, Environment and Energy is committed to safety, protection and assistance, to environmental protection, sustainable energy supply and is responsible for building permit procedures as well as for the Bern Zoo (Dählhölzli + Bear Park). In the Zoo , we primarily convey knowledge about European animals and their habitats.
Your Activities
- Prepare food (this also includes the slaughtering of feed animals), clean facilities and maintain the environment (e.g. weeding, mowing)
- Care for various animals and take responsibility for their professional and species-appropriate care, maintenance and breeding
- Maintain and set up facilities appropriately for the species
- Inform guests
Your Profile
- Completed vocational training (preferably in a craft direction)
- Sense for practical work and enjoyment of physical effort
- Robust health, no allergies, strong constitution
- Acceptance of dirty work
- Good observational skills and attention when dealing with animals, reliability
