A NIGHT NURSE

General mission of the position
By personally adhering to the care philosophy of the EMS of Meyrin, the night nurse provides personalized care to residents with an attitude of openness, flexibility, and respect for the elderly person and their family.
They ensure continuous and secure monitoring during the night, taking into account the specific needs related to this particular time.
They work closely with the night team and ensure effective communication of information to the day team to guarantee continuity of care.
Main activities
Execution of care:
- Provide and guarantee individualized care during the night, considering the physical, psychological, emotional, and comfort needs of the residents
- Decide and perform nursing care within their competence
- Apply medical prescriptions and ensure proper nighttime care
- Respond to medical emergencies and contact the attending physician or on-call doctor if necessary
- Guide and support night nursing assistants and ASSC in performing their tasks
- Ensure monitoring, evaluation, and safety of residents throughout the night
- Communicate orally and in writing (DIR) all useful observations to the day team
- Actively collaborate with IRUS and the multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities and representation:
- Respect the standards, guidelines, and procedures established for proper management of their activity
- Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality in all circumstances
- Be strictly bound by professional and functional secrecy
- Ensure that the EMS care philosophy is respected even during the night context
- Keep residents' files (DIR) up to date in relation to night care activities
Required training and profile
Swiss nursing diploma or foreign diploma recognized by the Red Cross
Experience in geriatrics, psycho-geriatrics, or night care desired

Professional and personal skills:
- French: Minimum level C1
- Computer skills: Proficient in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), knowledge of Sadies DIR software is an asset
- Autonomy and strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to work in a small team during the night
- Attention, empathetic listening, respect, and humanity towards residents, families, and colleagues
- Reactivity and composure in emergency situations
