The Hospital Network Appenzell Ausserrhoden, with the acute hospital Herisau and the Psychiatric Centre AR in Herisau, ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.

We are looking for

In the MTTB department under the direction of Ms Jana Schmid, we are seeking immediately or by arrangement a Specialist in Surgical Technology (TOA) as a vocational trainer for student supervision with a workload of 60-100%.

Your tasks

• You are responsible for student supervision and ensure professional training
• You work closely with vocational education in this regard
• Professional preparation and control of devices, instruments, and materials for the respective operations
• Care, preparation, and treatment of patients (such as positioning, surgical field preparation, medical monitoring)
• Instrument handling, assisting, and execution of all positioning measures according to internal instructions and the guidelines of professional societies
• Implementation of all hygiene measures within your area of responsibility to ensure a safe and smooth operation
• Forwarding and obtaining all relevant information to ensure smooth operating theatre operations
• Correct, complete, and legible documentation of all activities

Your profile

• You have completed training as a certified Specialist in Surgical Technology HF or as a Technical Surgical Assistant (TOA)
• Experience in supervising apprentices and students
• Fluent German skills in spoken and written form
• You enjoy working in a team and value good interdisciplinary collaboration
