In the research project "Voices in Dialogue. Polyphonic Writing with and about Art" of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), we investigate contemporary forms of art reception. At the Kunsthaus Zurich and Kunsthaus Glarus, we conduct field research in which we explore the relationships, interactions and interpretations that arise between people and artworks. On this basis, we develop alternative methods for analysing and writing about art.
To support our small team, we are looking for a Research Associate at 40% from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement.

The position is limited to three years.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the project management with art-historical literature and archive research and field research
- Coordinating research meetings, workshops and public events
- Communicating with various partners
- Maintaining the project database
We are looking for an independent, reliable and committed individual who is enthusiastic about research contexts, possesses strong analytical and organisational skills and demonstrates confidence in art-historical research. You have a completed MA degree in Art History (or a related discipline), excellent oral and written proficiency in German and English, and practical knowledge of common specialist software. Ideally, you bring practical professional experience in the museum sector.
