Is this helpful?
«Our central task is to protect the personal data and thus the privacy of the residents of the canton of Zurich.»
For this purpose, the Data Protection Officer acts as an independent supervisory authority. She supervises the data processing of the cantonal administration, the municipalities, and the other authorities and public institutions in the canton of Zurich. Together with her team, she advises public bodies, conducts inspections, and informs the population about data protection issues and privacy protection topics.
Your tasks
You advise public bodies and private individuals, conduct inspections (data protection reviews), examine digitization projects of the canton or the municipalities, assess reports of data protection violations, and prepare opinions on data protection-related ordinances in the legislative process. In addition, you create publications (guidelines, web articles, articles for the activity report), conduct training and further education activities (lectures, seminars), and participate in topic-specific projects and working groups. You will deal with current topics such as the use of cloud services and AI generators.
Your profile
You are fascinated by digitization topics. You have a completed university degree in law and ideally already have knowledge of data protection and administrative law. Knowledge of information and IT law as well as information security is an advantage.
You have professional experience, enjoy working in an interdisciplinary environment, are used to working independently, are communicative, service-oriented, and responsible.
Our offer
You can expect a challenging activity in a socially highly topical environment with responsible tasks. In our committed and motivated team, you have great opportunities to participate and shape.
