We are looking for a resident physician to join our inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry team at the Réseau de l'Arc in Switzerland. In this full-time role, you will work alongside child and adolescent psychiatrists and other health professionals (psychologists, nurses, medical secretaries) to provide high-quality child and adolescent psychiatric care to our patients in a hospital setting.
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service of the Mental Health Division of the Réseau de l'ARC is an ISFM training institution (currently undergoing recognition for category B) for both inpatient and outpatient activities.
Job Description
The resident physician within the UHPA (Psychiatric Hospitalisation Unit for Adolescents) will have the primary mission of actively participating in the assessment, follow-up, and care of adolescents experiencing psychological distress, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. They will contribute to ensuring the quality of care in a hospital environment, within a therapeutic framework adapted to the specificities of the adolescent population.
The responsibilities include:
- Conducting child and adolescent psychiatric assessments of patients
- Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with the child and adolescent psychiatry team
- Ensuring clinical follow-up of hospitalised patients, monitoring their progress and adjusting treatment plans according to changes in health status
- Prescribing and managing psychiatric medications
- Managing adolescents in psychiatric crisis situations (acute crises, suicide attempts, behavioural disorders)
- Intervening in cases of acute psychiatric crisis and providing emergency care for hospitalised adolescents
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care
- Maintaining accurate and detailed electronic medical records
- Offering family support in addition to individual patient care
- Participating in the development and implementation of inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry protocols and procedures
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Participating in on-call duties for external child and adolescent psychiatric emergencies
Qualifications
- Possession of a medical degree or an equivalent title recognised by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO) is mandatory.
- At least 1 year of experience as a resident in adult psychiatry or paediatrics is required; at least 1 year of experience in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy would be ideal.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
- A strong commitment to medical training and knowledge dissemination is required.
- Proficiency in French at a minimum B2 level is necessary.
