The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. The Center for Proton Therapy (ZPT) at PSI is a pioneer in the field of proton therapy. It conducts technological and clinical research with the goal of continuously optimizing proton beam therapy and further developing the spectrum of indications. In addition to research activities, the ZPT offers a clinical treatment program for patients whose indications are recognized by the Swiss healthcare system. The Center for Proton Therapy works closely with the relevant institutes and centers at universities as well as Swiss cantonal hospitals.
For the Center for Proton Therapy, we are looking for a
Your tasks
- Medical assessment and clinical care of children and adults including planning and implementation of proton therapy
- Close collaboration with the anesthesia team of the Zurich Children's Hospital
- Initiation and support of clinical studies, with a focus on pediatric radiation oncology
- Evaluation of treatment results and publication of data in peer-reviewed medical journals
- Presentation of clinical results at national and international professional conferences
- Active participation and representation of the Center for Proton Therapy nationally and internationally
Your profile
- Specialist title in radiation therapy with solid clinical experience
- Experience in pediatric oncology is an advantage but not a mandatory requirement
- Strong interest in patient-oriented clinical care, clinical research, medical physics, and the further development of proton therapy
- High willingness to innovate, sense of responsibility, and very good communication and interpersonal skills, especially in dealing with children and their families
- Motivation for further specialization in pediatric radiation oncology and to build a national and international clinical network
- Enjoyment of working in a multidisciplinary and multinational environment
- Demonstrable scientific interest with publication experience
- Very good English skills and good German skills
