About the job

• Development and implementation of teaching formats to convey conceptual as well as methodological strategies of postmedial art, in the tension field of analogue and digital spaces (including co-teaching).
• Didactically sound support of individual work processes, including artistic experiments, research, and presentation.
• Support of students in developing an artistic position and visual language.
• Promotion of reflective ability and artistic thinking by linking artistic development processes with the conveyance of discursive and theoretical knowledge.
• Encouragement of a professionally informed, responsible approach to traditional as well as contemporary technologies and media, including generative AI.
• Supervision and mentoring of students in the portfolio process.

• Overall responsibility for the content-related, organisational, and personnel planning, implementation, and further development of the module according to specifications.
• Lateral leadership of lecturers and teaching staff working in the module; in particular ensuring communication, promoting collaboration, and coordinating work assignments. Recruitment of teaching staff in consultation with the preparatory course management.
• Planning and allocation of resources and materials within the module.
• Ensuring the didactic quality and topicality of the teaching.
• Quality assurance and qualitative further development of the module, including feedback to lecturers.
• Participation in the professional, organisational, and personnel development of the preparatory design course.
• Representation of the postmedial art field in the core team as well as within the Department of Design Film Art.
• Active participation in exchange, planning, evaluation, and development bodies and involvement in strategic issues.

• You have a completed university degree (Master or Diploma) in fine arts or a related field.
• You have a profiled postmedial artistic practice. You work with different artistic methods and forms of expression, based on current societal and artistic questions.
• You have teaching experience at a university or a preparatory design course. A certificate in higher education didactics can be obtained as part of the employment.
• You know the Swiss art scene, are visible in it, and excellently networked.
• You are familiar with current positions, discourses, and theories of art as well as curating.
• You are proficient with analogue as well as digital tools, e.g. in the areas of painting, installation, and digital media.
• You are a communicative and reliable personality with pronounced cooperation and social skills.
• You have organisational skills and are experienced in independently planning and implementing projects and teaching units.
• You have very good German language skills.
