Professor for Contemporary Music (30-50%)

Your tasks:
- You teach the artistic main subject Specialized Performance Contemporary Music in the MA study programs as well as in the minor offerings and also take on the associated tasks
- You are part of the team of "sonic space basel" at the University of Music Basel / FHNW
- You are used to taking responsibility for the development of young musicians
- In addition to "classical new music", current trends that question and expand the concept of performance in unconventional formats, as well as the corresponding theoretical and aesthetic discourses, are an important part of your work with the students
- As a music-creating personality, you structure and realize concert and performative projects within our modular curricular framework
- Through your international networking and diverse professional experience, you can bring important impulses to the university and further develop existing formats together with the faculty
- You actively utilize the broad cooperation opportunities in teaching and research at the University of Music (especially with the study programs Composition, Open Creation, Audiodesign) and also with external institutions, contributing actively to further networking
- Thanks to your pronounced pedagogical commitment and your identification with the University of Music Basel, you play an integrative and enriching role in our institution
Your profile:
- You are a creative artist personality whose work has been sustainably recognized internationally for some time
- You are very well connected and bring extensive experience in the field of performance of contemporary music in various formats
- You are well acquainted with collaborative working methods
- The conception and implementation of projects, in which music creation in the broadest sense is at the center, you see as an important part of your work alongside your activity as a performer
- Your artistic work stands for a willingness to innovate and unconventionality, which you also want to bring into teaching
- Personal commitment to your subject and close collaboration with the faculty are important to you in order to make a significant contribution to the further development of the University of Music
- You are characterized by excellent didactic skills and teaching experience at the university level
- You have a university degree as well as a higher education didactic qualification or the willingness to acquire this during the first years
