The municipal council has elected Claudia Frei as the new co-head of the rectorate. Claudia Frei has known the community and the Primary School Wittenbach for about three and a half years as headteacher at the Steig school building. She brings broad professional experience in primary education, also through her long-standing work with the Cantonal Teachers' Association of St. Gallen and her ten years of experience as a primary school teacher. The CAS in School Counselling as well as the DAS in Association and NPO Management and her pronounced social and decision-making skills complete Claudia Frei's profile. She looks forward to taking on responsibility at a higher level and helping to shape the primary school strategically and operationally.

With the integration of the School of Music, the span of control and thus the management workload increases to a new 115%. Claudia Frei and José Lorca will cover this total workload from August 2026 and thus take over the joint management of the rectorate.

The vacant school management position at the Steig school building will be publicly advertised. The municipal council congratulates Claudia Frei on her future role and looks forward to a cooperative and responsible collaboration in the new co-leadership team.
