Job description
Operating in a dynamic and modern technical environment serving patients and HUG staff, the Server Systems team is responsible for administering the infrastructures hosting critical business applications. The team reports hierarchically to the Infrastructure Domain of the DTN-IA Operations Service and works closely with many internal teams, notably those in charge of Applications, Data, Security and Network.
As a Linux/containers/AI/automation specialist within this team, you contribute to the evolution of the Information System by providing innovative technical solutions and ensuring the reliability, security and performance of systems 24/7.
You design and administer virtual and physical Linux servers as well as containerisation and orchestration systems (ideally Kubernetes Rancher, Docker Swarm).
You implement the tools and procedures necessary for optimal and quality production (costs, reliability, performance, monitoring, norms and standards).
You collaborate with developers to design and optimise technical architectures in terms of resilience, performance and scalability.
You ensure the implementation and monitoring of systems and applications throughout the project lifecycle as well as the technical coherence of solutions in collaboration with project managers.
You participate in drafting norms, standards and procedures as well as technological watch and prospective actions, ensuring the proper use of the configuration management database (CMDB).
You maintain operational condition of hardware and software resources, ensuring compliance with end-of-life dates, performance and security criteria. You analyse and manage incidents, ensure service restoration and take necessary corrective measures in a continuous improvement approach.
Qualifications
You have an experienced Linux/containers/AI/automation administrator profile and hold a "Master in Computer Science" degree or an equivalent qualification.
You have essential knowledge of automation/GitOps tools (Ansible / GIT / ArgoCD) and strong necessary knowledge and practice of Linux (preferably Redhat/Rocky), VMware vSphere as well as containers under Kubernetes.
You have experience in implementing and operating AI platforms with GPU (NVIDIA GPU Operator would be a plus).
You know high availability technologies (load balancing, vertical/horizontal scaling), the technical, functional and organisational architecture of a large Information System, production processes and their quality control.
Knowledge and experience of IPAM/DNS/DHCP (preferably EfficientIP) would be an advantage.
Additionally, knowledge of production tools (monitoring) as well as project management knowledge and experience and methodologies (ideally Agile, Hermes) would be desirable.
If possible, you have knowledge of public procurement procedures, automated testing and a DevOps and CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment) approach.
You have composure and responsiveness to manage incidents as well as good stress resistance to cope with workloads or exceptional situations.
Moreover, you have good analytical skills to draw the right conclusions following incidents and good communication skills to interact with users of all technical and/or hierarchical levels.
You demonstrate good adaptability with proven experience of 5 to 10 years in a similar or equivalent role, preferably in a large company. You have a synthetic and abstract mind, rigour, precision and creativity, as well as excellent teamwork skills.
