The Kantonsschule Stadelhofen is a cantonal high school with classical and modern languages, mathematical-scientific, and musical profiles.

In 2026, our school will be expanded with a branch in Dübendorf. At full capacity, it will accommodate 650 students and will include, in addition to the short gymnasium, a commercial middle school and a lower gymnasium. In summer 2027, another building will be opened in Dübendorf – also for 650 students.

For the development phase and the subsequent school operation of our new school location, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for a committed, independently working personality as a laboratory technician 80-100% in the chemistry department, who also supports the teachers of the physics department.

The weekly working hours are distributed over four to five working days and depend on the respective timetables. Overtime and holidays can be taken during school holidays.

Your tasks

• As a laboratory technician, you are responsible for setting up and providing demonstration experiments and support the teachers of the chemistry and physics departments in preparing practical lessons and in the laboratories.
• You manage the budget of the collections in these subjects, carry out repairs and new acquisitions.
• You maintain the collection as well as the inventory and ensure smooth laboratory operations.
• You ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations as well as the proper handling and disposal of chemicals and waste.
• You participate in projects and support, if necessary, with graduation theses.
• In addition, you have the opportunity to assist with the procurement and setup of subject-specific infrastructure even before the school opens.

Your profile

• You are a flexible, team-oriented personality with completed vocational training as a laboratory technician specializing in chemistry or an equivalent qualification, as well as several years of experience in a similar role.
• You bring manual skills as well as a flair for soldering irons and pipettes and consistently comply with all safety and environmental regulations.
• You have very good German language skills (spoken and written) and are proficient in common IT skills in the MS Office area.
• You work independently, service-oriented, and very reliably.
• You possess excellent organizational skills and a careful working style.
• You understand your task as a service for all school members, maintain open, respectful communication, and have good access to young people.
