Senior Project Manager Digital Initiatives 100%Welcome to the fascinating world of taxation! The cantonal tax office, together with the municipal tax offices, collects taxes for the federal government, the canton, and the municipalities. We support private individuals and companies throughout the entire tax collection process. Around 800 qualified employees are committed to this at the location in Zurich Altstetten.
The coming years in the canton’s tax administration will be shaped by several significant digitalisation projects. For successful implementation, we are expanding our team in Digital Services and are looking for several Senior IT Project Managers to drive complex projects forward together with specialist departments, IT, and municipalities.
Your tasks
- You lead demanding and complex digital and IT projects with a high technology component – from the idea to successful implementation – ensuring adherence to deadlines, budget, and quality standards.
- You structure requirements together with specialist departments, develop viable concepts, and shape initial ideas into concrete project mandates.
- Together with partners from the canton, municipalities, federal government, and private sector, you design future-proof IT solution architectures aligned with long-term goals.
- You lead interdisciplinary project teams in a matrix organisation and manage your projects according to HERMES, supplemented by agile methods where appropriate.
- When it matters, you delve deeply, structure complex issues, and advance projects operationally.
Your profile
- You have several years of proven experience in managing complex projects and line management with high result responsibility – ideally in large projects with multi-million budgets.
- You possess a solid IT understanding and are familiar with interfaces, databases, and integration architectures.
- You hold a university degree (Master’s) in computer science, business, management, or a comparable field.
- Project management certifications such as HERMES, IPMA, Scrum, or SAFe are advantageous, or you are willing to pursue further training accordingly.
- Knowledge of taxation is a plus – or you are eager to acquire it.
- You have excellent German language skills and present yourself convincingly and confidently. You navigate confidently between different stakeholders, make well-founded decisions, and bring entrepreneurial thinking as well as the necessary perseverance to successfully advance complex initiatives.
