The Debt Enforcement and Bankruptcy Office (BKA) is responsible for carrying out debt enforcement and bankruptcy proceedings in the canton of Glarus, thereby realising the compulsory, state-enforced collection of monetary claims in the interest of creditors. The office is subordinate to the main department of Justice in the Department of Security and Justice.

We are looking for a

Head of Department BKA 90–100 %

immediately or by arrangement, based in Glarus.

Tasks

• Overall responsibility for the management and further development of the Debt Enforcement and Bankruptcy Office (personnel, professional, organisational and financial)
• Personnel management of the Debt Enforcement Office as well as support and professional guidance of employees together with the Deputy Head of the Debt Enforcement Office
• Ensuring the correct and efficient processing of debt enforcement and bankruptcy proceedings
• Responsibility for budget preparation and compliance, financial and performance controlling as well as records management
• Writing activity reports, evaluations and consultations
• Drafting proposals for legislative projects in the specialist area

Requirements

• Completed studies in law at master’s level or Federal Specialist Certificate "Specialist in Debt Enforcement and Bankruptcy" with targeted further training
• Integrity with proven professional and leadership experience in the public administration
• Enjoyment of professional challenges and targeted further training of employees
• Skilled in analysis and strong in implementation
• Assertiveness and negotiation skills, combined with high social competence and openness
• Audience-appropriate written and oral communication skills as well as presentation competence
